David Amram is considered, rightfully, an ambassador of jazz music. Born in 1930 in Philadelphia, he played with basically everyone in the jazz world: Lionel Hampton, Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, Gunther Schuller, Charlie Parker, Frank Sinatra, Herbie Hancock, Stan Getz.
Today, as he has for over 50 years, Amram continues to compose music while traveling the world as a conductor, soloist, bandleader, visiting scholar, and narrator in five languages. Here you have our interview with this humble giant.
